Altitude of a Triangle: Definition, Examples, Chart, and Practice Interior Angle (Internal Angle): Definition, Examples, Chart, and Practice

What Grade 6 geometry covers

Grade 6 geometry often studies shape parts, angle positions, area, and measurement. Students learn how interior angles, base, and height work together in triangles and other shapes.

Height must be perpendicular

Many area formulas use height. In a triangle, the height is an altitude, which meets the base at a right angle.

Angles can be inside a shape

An interior angle, also called an internal angle, is an angle formed inside a polygon where two sides meet.

Read the height before the formula

Read the definition, study the marked diagram, then use the example and playground to connect the picture with the formula.
